Gjerdrum municipality has given a negative answer to Gjerdrum Historical society's recommendation to get started with a new volume of Gjerdrum "bygdebok". According to the manager for culture in the municipality, Cathrine Haakonsen, there is no room in the budget for such a release.

Volume four of Gjerdrum "bygdebok", "I forandringens tegn", covers the years from 1870 until 1940. The book was published in 2000 copies and at the release, Local authority executive, Magne Skrede was wondering if a fifth volume would follow only in a digital edition.
