According to the local newspaper Hitra-Frøya, Olaus Selvaag and Svein Bertil Sæther has started working with a Bygdebook for Hitra. The books are scheduled to come out in a total of six volumes and to be completed by 2020.

Hitra municipality promises to participate with 200,000 NOK a year to the project, which has been on a planning stage for about 20 years. Now the Coast Museum and Local history society has joined together on the project.
