A new family history of the Pihl family

The Norwegian ancestor of the family was Andreas Pihl (approx. 1654-1717), captain and vice-commander at Munkholmen, later commander at the Skånes fort at Levanger. The book comprises his agnatic descendants, and also the cognatic descendants for the last 100 years, and it is à jour as per October 2010. The previous Pihl family history was published in 1939 in a limited edition and is of course long out of date.

The three existing branches of this family can be traced back respectively to the community doctor Abraham Alexander Pihl (1838-1909), Oluf Pihl (1822-1895) who was the manager of a gasworks, and railroad manager Carl Abraham Pihl (1825-1897).

The book was written by Torbjørn Pihl and published by Bodoni Press in Bergen. It consists of 174 pages with over 200 illustrations, and is printed on quality paper with a solid leather-look binding.
